St. Philip Pizza Parlor + Bakeshop

St. Philip was a restaurant in Austin's Sunset Valley named after the patron saint of bakers. Their menu featured pizzas, house-made breads and a bevy of baked goods.

We collaborated with Hai Hospitality and Michael Hsu Office of Architecture to create a space for St. Philip that at once felt modern, fresh, and cozy. We used a juxtaposition of industrial and soft, new and antique to achieve the effect. The color palette was dominated by white with warm woods, punctuated by bright pops of red and blue. Turned legs on the hostess stand and expo station in the dining room reflected St. Philip's often surprising takes on old standbys. And leather-covered door handles and bar tops elevated the details.

Custom lighting and furniture throughout delineated the three zones: indoor dining, outdoor dining, and bake shop.

RIP, St. Philip. We miss you.
