We designed this home for the sweetest couple we know. They purchased the 4-bedroom (plus casita) space as a second residence and reached out to us to furnish it for them, top to bottom. The space was newly built and very contemporary, yet it felt cold. Our charge was to make it a place our clients could call home.

We worked first to understand how they lived. They have a couple of cats  – and they foster – so everything needed to be kitty-proof. They work from home at times, so there needed to be lots of functional work space. They love to entertain, and they have a fairly large out-of-town family who comes to stay. And they planned to rent the casita on Airbnb.

Then, we went to work finding the perfect furnishings, artwork, and decor. When there wasn't an intuitive off-the-shelf fit, we went custom. One of our favorite pieces is a custom queen-sized bunk bed in the casita, so that two couples could comfortably stay there.

Recently, our clients let us know that they're considering making this their primary residence. We felt like we'd accomplished what we'd set out to do.
