The fine folks at Meanwhile Brewing dreamed of brewing their thoughtfully-crafted beer and coffee in South Austin. And because they’re beer people and “people-people”, they wanted to open a taproom that welcomed all.

To create a warm vibe that matched their hospitality, we hit on the idea of an Irish pub – seen through the lens of Austin. Lush emerald green, panels of shou sugi ban, and round sconce / pendants evoke the cozy pub feel, which we paired with a splash of Texas, seen in the tufted blonde leather booths and locally-sourced pecan bar tops. Organic touches (like the pressed tin ceiling tiles) play nice with OPA’s architecture, which highlights the easy flow between indoors and out. And our friends at Guerrilla Suit created a whimsical brand that’s showcased in a “try it on for size” merch area, a bespoke doodle-filled wallpaper, and custom bar taps.

In addition to the all-day taproom, there’s a large brewing facility, an outdoor stage, a soccer field, food trucks, a private dining area, and a native cedar playscape (molded into the earth!) – so any time you visit, there’s something to raise a glass to.
